Experimentation
I'm going to experiment with porridges - I have some amaranth, quinoa, hemp seeds, and chia seeds hanging around not getting eaten. I may end up throwing in some wheat germ just because I have it around, too (I gave up on trying to mix the germ and chia into my yogurt)

Plants out of place
I had a lot of fun using a flame weeder last night. Not sure if there's a problem with the valve, we had trouble turning it off. I'll give it another shot before I contact the manufacturer about what might be a faulty unit.

Long time no post
Too busy outside making the garden(s) a reality. Images to follow.
May is making up for April being so awfully dry. We've had rain and/or overcast in the forecast for days.

The Perfect Wedding Dress
...has a way to cover up flabby upper arms (he hates them, so do I. I like 3/4 sleeves best)
...is not empire waisted (he hates them - says they look like maternity dresses)
...is not fitted (I don't like my "muffin top" and I don't necessarily want to be corseted.)
...is available in "plus size" (I usually wear a 20)
...perhaps not white at all, maybe red just in case of tomato sauce

Fair Exchange
3 pub cans of Guiness and half a bottle of Jack Daniel's netted me a fantastic chocolate stout cupcake with Guiness icing, and a bottle of Jameson's 12 year-old Special Reserve. Brilliant.

Resurrection
The one purple beautyberry I thought was dead was only sleeping. There were little green sprouts coming up from the base, under the mulch. I moved some of the mulch away so that it can get some sun. Totally spoiled the symmetry of what I was originally going to do with the hyssop, but nice to see that a $15 plant actually survived. Still waiting on my Toad Lilies from Gurneys... maybe I'll give a call and let them know that the liriope did not survive (I totally did not leave them in the fridge way too long, nope nope nope)
Tons of bulbs from Brecks to get into the ground. The hostas will get donated to Mom in the city where they will not be deer salad.
